Our Services

Up Top Acres creates and manages urban farms and gardens, partnering with commercial and residential properties to integrate green spaces regardless of size. The produce is shared with building tenants or donated to local organizations promoting food security.

We also provide event programming to engage the community with the gardens, local food systems, and sustainable urban living.

Garden Types

Each project has its own unique set of circumstances, and we’ll work with you to identify the garden system that best fits your needs.

Large Scale Green Roof

We convert large scale green roofs into working farms. We’ll build out rows of crops, and plant the rooftop in a variety of annual vegetables, as well as perennial herbs and flowers. Using the traditional green roof system allows for the rooftop to capture storm water, and reduce the energy use of the building.

Raised planter beds are a great solution for rooftops, patios, and ground-level gardens. The planter beds can be arranged in many configurations, and can be placed upon ballast or green roofs.

Raised Planter Beds

For existing green roofs that have thriving sedum, clover, or grasses, the green roof garden integrates planting rows within the current green roof. This retains the benefits from the green roof, with the added benefit of growing produce.

Green Roof Gardens

Ground level planters are a great option in areas where there is accessible space. These farms offer high visibility, and a great way to engage the surrounding community.
