Warm-Weather
Crops Are Here!

The heat-loving favorites are rolling in, lots of fun peppers are producing great yields at the weekly harvests for the cafe this summer. None of it happens without help though: bees and other pollinators have been buzzing from bloom to bloom all season, doing the essential work that makes every harvest possible!

a Note from your farmer, owen

Didn’t think this much kale was possible? We’ll surprise in what seems like a small space kale abounds. As the peppers have started maturing, the kale has been holding down the fort with consistent harvest each week. Supported by the basil and scallions these three together have presented a formidable force and have now been joined by an abundance of pepper varieties. Both sweet and hot, the peppers have blessed us with their presence in the Ravens Training Center Garden.

What’s your favorite part about summer in this garden?

I look forward to the slow pace afforded me at the Ravens Training Center, my earliest arrival grants me access to a pace where I get to spend quality time with the plants.
