EastBoro May Hive Update

From Beekeeper James

It was great to see many of the EastBoro tenants at our annual beekeeping event a few weeks ago! Over in the apiary, the month of May marks the primary nectar flow in the Tysons area! You may have been struggling with pollen allergies but the bees are in heaven! As always your bees on the roof of 8251 Greensboro were as busy as ever collecting nectar and pollen from the black locust, tulip poplar and linden trees all over Tysons. The bees are filling up frame after frame of honey and are now working on capping each with a nice coating of wax.

did you know?

To produce one pound of honey,a colony collectively flies about 55,000 miles.

That’s more than twice around the Earth!
