Carlyle Gateway June ‘26 Hive Update

The hives at Carlyle Gateway had another strong month. The colonies are healthy, active, and taking advantage of the tail end of nectar flow in the area. Both hives have a good-looking brood pattern and plenty of bees covering the frames. Honey production is well underway now, and I have added two honey supers to each hive to accommodate the nectar flow.

Varroa mite levels, the biggest threat to honey bee colonies, continue to remain low because of our integrated pest management approach and thanks to some organic pest controls! Throughout July, we will be assessing how much honey can safely be taken from their stores, so keep an eye out for the next update!

Honey bees can fly up to 3 miles from their hive in search of nectar and pollen.
