1500 K Street June ‘26 Hive Update

The bees at 1500 K are doing really well heading into the peak summer season! Your hive has a booming population, and there was plenty of activity at the entrances with foragers coming and going at each inspection.

Your queen bee continues to perform well, and brood production looks healthy across the board. Honey production has picked up considerably over the past month, and the bees are in the process of capping each sweet frame with a coat of wax to cure the nectar into honey.

Varroa mite levels, the biggest threat to honey bee colonies, continue to remain low because of our integrated pest management approach and thanks to some organic pest controls! I'm looking forward to seeing how much honey they put away over the next few weeks. Overall, your hive is looking great, and throughout July, we will be assessing how much honey can safely be taken from their stores.

Fun Fact:

A queen bee can lay up to 2,000 eggs in a single day during peak season.
