RAISED PLANTER BEDS

The Garden at 733 Tenth

The garden at 733 Tenth is new for 2023, boasting six rows of raised beds built upon the existing green roof. The front-section of the garden - the first encounter one has to the roof - is a flower garden, planted to provide a spark of beauty as well as to provide forage and habitat for bees and butterflies. The veggie garden on the east side of the roof will be planted in a wide variety of food crops such as kale, chard, basil, parsley, eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes, all harvested weekly during the harvest season of June-October for the tenants to enjoy.

  • “This is my favorite amenity provided in this building in the 10 years I have worked there. This is an absolutely fantastic program. I loved eating my lunch on the roof and looking at the gardens. I loved having the harvest to look forward to on Tuesdays. I loved going up there with my colleagues together and talking about how we would use the vegetables we took, I love your organization. I think you are doing such a great work.”

  • “I really loved the market table and garden! It was so nice to see space on the roof put to good use and it was a nice treat to have something to look forward to on a Tuesday. It was also a great opportunity to interact with other people who work in the building outside my own organization. I would love it if you brought this back again next year. Thank you so much!”
