GREEN ROOF GARDEN

The Garden at 2112 Penn

Opened in 2023 with Lincoln Property Company, the gardens at 2112 Pennsylvania Ave NW are a green roof conversion planted interspersed with the existing native grasses. The combined plant-life means food and flowers for the building tenants to enjoy, as well as important habitat and forage for the local ecosystem including bees and butterflies. Food crops such as kale, chard, peppers, and eggplant will nourish building tenants at once-per-week farm stands during the June-October harvest season. Flowers, natives, and herbs, interspersed throughout the rest of the roof system will provide color, beauty, and habitat to make the patio a diverse and engaging space.
