The EastBoro Garden Spring‘25 Update
Up Top Acres is excited to be bringing the tenants of the EastBoro buildings a rooftop garden this year! Last month, crews installed a raised bed garden and planted out a variety of vegetables and herbs that will soon fill up the weekly Harvest Tables for each of the EastBoro buildings to take part in. Alongside hearty greens like kale, collards and chard, fruiting vegetables like sweet peppers, eggplant, cucumbers and tomatoes are putting down roots and will soon be harvest ready. Starting in June and recurring weekly through October, Up Top Acres farmers will set up a harvest table for tenants of the buildings to take a share of the produce grown on site for free! We’re looking forward to meeting the tenants of the Eastboro in a few short weeks at the first table.
These rows of collard greens will be unrecognizable in a few weeks when they quadruple in size and are ready for harvest
Once mature, a single kale plant can churn out as many as 35 bunches of kale throughout a single season!
