655 New York Garden Spring‘25 Update
Have you checked out the snacking garden yet this season? Hungry browsers have probably noticed the strawberries coming in, with more plants being added to offer even more juicy sweetness! The crepe myrtles were trimmed back to encourage new vigorous growth, and opened up the canopy for sunlight to reach even more plants. Dwarf cherry tomatoes, lunchbox peppers, eggplant, kale, collard greens, and swiss chard are all joining the herbs this season, enjoy!
Powerhouses of the 655 New York Garden, chives & mint, growing in beautifully in early spring!
Did you know that you can eat the purple chive flowers too? they pack a punch!
Some of our best friends of the garden are the lady bugs. They are a beneficial insect which means they help protect the crops from pests that are harmful to the garden.
If you see any lady bugs as you are harvesting this season, be sure to give them the praise they deserve!
