EastBoro Spring ‘26 Hive Update
Notes from beekeeper james
The bees at 8251 EastBoro emerged from a long winter rearing to go! By the time of the first major blooms of the season, the colony's estimated 15,000 overwintered workers got straight to collecting pollen and nectar in Tysons. The workers who clustered in a ball to stay warm during the colder months have now been joined by tens of thousands of their siblings to collect resources to grow the colony. So far they have quickly filled over ten frames of honey, and will continue to do so through the major nectar flow that begins to taper off in June.
