Crops Are Here!
The heat-loving favorites are rolling in, eggplant, cucumbers, peppers, and basil are all producing great yields at the Harvest Tables this summer. None of it happens without help though: bees and other pollinators have been buzzing from bloom to bloom all season, doing the essential work that makes every harvest possible!

The bounty of the garden at 733 Tenth has been on full display this summer at each weekly Harvest Table. Since the beginning of the season, over a thousand bunches of our hearty greens have filled the tables, while perennial culinary herbs have provided flavor and color to home cooked meals. As summer peaked, the popular fruiting crops of cucumbers, eggplant, peppers and tomatoes brought even more excitement to tenants! Meanwhile in the pollinator meadow, the blooms of annual and perennial flowers attracted honeybees and dozens of native pollinators to the roof.
What’s your favorite part about summer in this garden?
This site is truly an urban oasis on the 12th story of the building. The pollinator meadow, the vegetable garden and green roof plants help mitigate stormwater runoff and reduce the heat island effect. My favorite thing about this roof is how integrated the natural world is in a space dominated by concrete and glass.
