1500 K May Hive Update

From Beekeeper James

The month of May was busy as ever for the bees at 1500 K. Over the past month the black locust, tulip poplar and linden trees in downtown DC have all flowered and the bees took full advantage of the huge nectar flow! The bees are filling up frame after frame of honey and are now working on capping each with a nice coating of wax.

did you know?

To produce one pound of honey,a colony collectively flies about 55,000 miles.

That’s more than twice around the Earth!
