Raised Planter Beds
The Washington Building Garden
Installed in March of 2025, the rooftop garden at The Washington Building consists of over 300 feet of raised planter beds on three separate areas of the rooftop. Integrated within the tenant patio space on the north and south sides of the building and two other beds on the previously unused ballasted rooftop space- this garden has transformed the rooftop into a green oasis during the growing season. The beds overflow with greens like kale and collards, culinary herbs, and veggies such as peppers and cucumbers in the shadow of the Washington Monument and are enjoyed weekly by the building’s community!
