Crops Are Here!
The heat-loving favorites are rolling in, eggplant, cucumbers, peppers, and basil are all producing great yields at the Harvest Tables this summer. None of it happens without help though: bees and other pollinators have been buzzing from bloom to bloom all season, doing the essential work that makes every harvest possible!
a Note from your farmer, cat
This year, the Willard is flush with a full menu of leafy greens and fruiting crops! You may be able to see the towering trellis of the cucumbers from the courtyard, and smell the herbaceous breeze of the basil, parsley and rosemary. If you’ve been to the harvest table, then you’ve surely seen just how much this small but mighty garden can produce. Eggplant, sweet peppers, kale and collards are just a few of the things growing right next door at the Willard Hotel. Be sure to stop by to grab some mojito or pesto ingredients- whichever fits your fancy!
What’s your favorite part about summer in this garden?
My fav thing about this garden is the solid cucumber trellis

CUCUMBERS
Over 95 POUNDS harvested so far this season!
Did you know?
Cucumbers are over 95% water, which makes them one of the most refreshing things you can pull straight off the vine on a hot summer day. They're also fast growers, going from flower to harvest-ready fruit in as little as a week under the right conditions.
