District Center Garden ‘25 Summer Update

 

Notes from your farmer’s

CAT & Kristof:

The garden at District Center is in its full summer glory, and the plants are lWe have seen numerous praying mantis helping to keep insect pests under controls. The rooftop bees have been busy harvesting pollen from our large mint patch and pollinating all of the fruit crops. The kale and collards are full and bushy, the cucumbers are climbing vigorously, the peppers and eggplants are adding lots of color to the harvest tables, and the tomatoes are just beginning to ripen. We love seeing the tenants of District Center enjoying the harvest!

 

What’s your favorite thing about summer at the District Center Garden?

I am constantly amazed by how tall and bushy the kale has been this summer, the plants are beginning to look like trees! - Cat

I love to watch the cucumber vines climb the trellis. There is nothing like being greeted with a wall of riper cukes each week! - Kristof
