Crops Are Here!
The heat-loving favorites are rolling in, eggplant, cucumbers, peppers, and basil are all producing great yields at the Harvest Tables this summer. None of it happens without help though: bees and other pollinators have been buzzing from bloom to bloom all season, doing the essential work that makes every harvest possible!

The rooftop garden at 800 17th is positively overflowing with the bounty of summer. From bright tomatoes and eggplants to enormously bushy kale and collards to fragrant bundles of herbs, the weekly Harvest Tables have been piled high with abundance. In the garden, a mix of perennial flowers and herbs are in full force, to the delight of the bees and butterflies. We have very much enjoyed getting to share the harvest with the tenants at 800 17th and look forward to the rest of the season!

Basil is part of the mint family, which is why it grows so fast and fills out so quickly once the weather warms up. It's also one of those rare herbs that actually tastes better the more you use it: regularly pinching off leaves and flower buds encourages the plant to grow bushier and produces even more flavorful leaves all season.
