Warm-Weather
Crops Are Here!

The heat-loving favorites are rolling in, eggplant, cucumbers, peppers, and basil are all producing great yields at the Harvest Tables this summer. None of it happens without help though: bees and other pollinators have been buzzing from bloom to bloom all season, doing the essential work that makes every harvest possible!

a Note from your farmers, James, Pasha, and Kristof,

The bounty of the garden at Capital Gateway Farms has been on full display this summer at each bi-weekly harvest table. I’ve tried my best to meet the demand of eager tenants hoping to get a share of the produce from the garden! Starting in June, Capital Gateway tenants have been able to take home hyper-local and freshly harvested kale, collards and rainbow chard, along with sprigs of perennial culinary herbs. With the heat of summer, fruiting crops like cukes, peppers and eggplant filled the lovely co-branded canvas bags provided by the Lincoln Properties management team. And for the first time this year, the on-site orchard provided the first flushes of figs, peaches and apples.

EGGPLANT

Over 120 POUNDS harvested so far this season!

Did you know?

Eggplant is technically a fruit, botanically classified as a berry, and it's a member of the nightshade family along with tomatoes and peppers.

Curious how much food the garden has grown so far this year?
